Winter storm warning: Rapidly accumulating snow to drop 2-5 inches across Cincinnati

IF YOU NEED TO PLAN AHEAD FOR BABYSITTING, CHILDCARE. RIGHT NOW, THE STORM WE ARE TALKING ABOUT IS OVER TAXES. THAT IS WHERE YOU ARE SEEING RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS IN DALLAS. IT WILL BE HERE JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT. CURRENTLY, THINGS ARE QUIET BUT LET’S GO THROUGH THE TIMELINE. IT WILL BRING ACCUMULATING SNOW, SLEET AND RAIN TO OUR AREA. STARTING OUT WITH THE MIDNIGHT THROUGH 8:00 A.M.. THIS IS WHEN WILL GET RAPIDLY ACCUMULATING SNOW. WE WILL HAVE SNOW COVERED ROAD AS WE APPROACH SUNRISE TOMORROW MORNING. MOST TALENTS WILL END UP BETWEEN 2-4 INCHES OF SNOW. THERE WILL BE SPOTS THAT WILL GET CLOSER TO 5 INCHES, OTHERS CLOSER TO 1 INCH. ONCE WE GET TO 8:00 A.M., 9:00 A.M. WE SEE WARM AND WORK IN. WE WILL SEE SOME MIXING, SLEEP FROM CINCINNATI TO AREAS IN THE SOUTH AND SOUTH EAST. BY THE AFTERNOON, WE LOOK AT LIGHT RAIN AND DRIZZLE. AND THEN SOME LIGHT SNOW WORKS ITS WAY BACK IN FOR THE EVENING COMMUTE. THE BIG IMPACT IS THAT MORNING COMMUTE ON WEDNESDAY. HERE’S THE FUTURECAST WITH TODAY SHOWING A LITTLE BIT OF SUNSHINE EARLY ON. LET’S SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING AS WE GET CLOSER TO MIDNIGHT. YOU SEE THAT SYSTEM MOVING IN FROM THE SOUTH. BY 1:38 A.M., 2:00 A.M., YOU WILL SEE AN INCH PER HOUR. BY 7:00 A.M., THE SNOW LIFTS TO THE NORTH BUT YOU HAVE 2-4 INCHES OF SNOW ON THE GROUND AND WE WILL START TO SEE THE TRANSITION LINE MAKE ITS WAY TO THE OHIO RIVER. YOU WILL SEE A TRANSITION TO RAIN, SNOW TO THE NORTH. MOST OF GREATER CINCINNATI WILL BE DEALING WITH RAIN BY LUNCHTIME. FAYETTE, NEWNAN AND OXFORD YOU COULD BE LOCKED INTO SNOW FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE SYSTEM. BY THE AFTERNOON, THERE WILL BE A FEW FLURRIES LINGERING. IN THE DEEP BLUE WAS WHERE WE COULD SEE 3-5 INCHES OF SNOW. TO THE SOUTH AND EAST, 1-3 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED. THAT IS WHY WE HAVE THE WINTER STORM WARNING. THERE IS A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SUBCOMMUNITIES. TODAY WE WILL MAKE IT TO 43°. TOMORROW IS A WEATHER IMPACT DAY ESPECIALLY DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE. THURSDAY, SNOW SHOWERS AND 34°. WE WILL BE 40° WITH SOME RAIN BY SATURDAY.

Just as one winter storm moves out, another takes aim at Greater Cincinnati. Accumulating snow brings potential for snow-covered roads midweek.LIVE RADAR // LATEST WEATHER ALERTS // CLOSINGS AND DELAYS Tuesday will be mainly dry. We start out chilly in the 20s but plan on highs in the low 40s and mostly cloudy skies. The storm won’t arrive until after midnight.Another strong and potentially high impact storm arrive in our area late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Accumulating snow moves in after midnight and accumulates quickly as the snow becomes heavy. Most of the snow accumulates before sunrise Wednesday morning. By 8AM the mixing line makes to Cincinnati with a switch to some sleet or rain. The rain/mix line works from south to north through the mid to late morning. By noon it will be all rain with the exception of the far northwest into SE Indiana where it may stay all snow through noon.Snow totals will be higher the farther north/northwest you live. Most around Greater Cincinnati pick up 2-4″. Areas north/northwest potentially see closer to 4-5″. Expect snow-covered roads and messy travel Wednesday morning. Roads should begin to improve slowly Wednesday afternoon as we see light rain/drizzle. Some flurries are possible again after 5PM.Flurries and snow showers linger in the forecast behind this for Thursday and Friday. Our next chance of moisture arrives on Sunday as either rain or a wintry mix. This may have an impact on Bengals AFC Championship watch parties!
