Metro Detroit expected to get four or more inches of snow Wednesday

More wintery weather is heading into southeastern Michigan mid-week.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said the area could be hit with four or more inches of snow on Wednesday, thanks to a pressure system moving up from the Mississippi Valley through Ohio and then into the eastern Great Lakes, trailing into Detroit.

The snow is not expected to affect Wednesday’s morning commute but may be an issue for the afternoon commute home.

Temperature are expected to stay in the 30s.

NWS also said it’s too soon to issue a winter storm advisory but with wind, it may become a more significant issue. Gusty northeast-north winds of 20-30 mph may reduce visibility causing the snow to blow and drift which may make driving conditions harsh.
