Oklahoma could see several inches of snow Tuesday

A winter weather advisory has been issued for several counties throughout Oklahoma, with other parts of the state under a winter weather watch until Wednesday morning.KOCO 5 Meteorologist Jonathan Conder says he wouldn’t be surprised if the watch is upgraded to a warning as rain and snow head into Oklahoma.The winter weather event is expected to start overnight and into early Tuesday morning. The precipitation will start as rain and change over to snow, and Jonathan says Oklahoma will see heavy, wet snow throughout Tuesday. He also says the highest accumulation of snow should be from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday. The northern half of Oklahoma could see 1-3 inches of snow, and other areas throughout the state should see 3-5 inches. Jonathan says a band south of the Oklahoma City metro to southeastern Oklahoma could see 5-7 inches. Jonathan has the latest winter weather timeline.
